Mark Winter has 27 years of experience in the commercial real estate business specializing in investment property sales, acquisition, development and tenant/landlord representation.  In addition, Mr. Winter is responsible for overseeing the commercial management and leasing of Oakbrook Corporation’s office portfolio.  During his career, Mr. Winter has been involved in brokerage transactions totaling in excess of $400 million.  Mr. Winter was one of the founding principals of Oakbrook in 1987, and was Vice President of the Madsen Corporation from 1983 to 1987.

Mr. Winter has been a guest lecturer on commercial real estate topics at various business executive functions, the University of Wisconsin Business School, and the annual First Business Bank Real Estate Forecast forum.  He is currently on the boards of HospiceCare Inc. (Chairman) and HospiceCare Holdings.  He was a past president of the Commercial Brokers Group and the Far Eastside Business Association.  Mr. Winter has also served on the board of numerous other organizations.

CAREER SUMMARY

Prior to the formation of the Oakbrook Corporation in 1987, Mr. Klein worked for ten years as Vice President of Madsen Corporation in real estate management, development, and finance.  He developed commercial and multi-family housing projects in 30 communities and secured a total of $100 million in mortgage financing for Madsen projects.  Mr. Klein was responsible for the start-up, marketing, leasing, and overall management services for residential development.  He has extensive experience in mixed-use developments, public/private partnerships, brokerage, site selection, and owner representation.

Mr. Klein has been a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and has been a panel member with the Urban Land Institute on public/private partnerships.  He is a past president of the Madison Exchange Club, a past director of the U.W. Real Estate Education Fund, a director of Associated Bank South Central, a director of Catholic Charities, a director of Second Harvest Foodbank, a member of the Delta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Fraternity, and Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Edgewood High School.

Mr. Carpenter is a financial and informational systems professional with experience in property management, telecommunications, publishing and distribution. Prior to joining Oakbrook he developed broad skills in financial systems design and improvement, information systems implementation and operational improvements.

Mr. Carpenter is on the Board of Directors of the Dane County Rape Crisis Center and on the Board of Directors, and currently President, of Financial Executives International – Madison chapter. He is also members of the Wisconsin Institute of CPA’s and the American Institute of CPA’s.

Mr. Griswold’s primary focus is acquisitions, development and consulting.  He has extensive experience in capital markets, mixed-use development, entitlements and TIF districts.

Prior to Oakbrook Corporation, Jake was the Vice President of Development at Pabst Farms Development, a 1,500 acre master planned community.  In this role, he managed the underwriting, financing and development of over $100,000,000 of retail, office, industrial, hospitality and residential projects and the entitlement of over 500 acres of land.  Before returning to Wisconsin to pursue his MBA, Jake was an Analyst at The Carlyle Group focused on opportunistic real estate projects in the primary institutional markets of the US.  Prior to The Carlyle Group, Jake worked in consulting focused on the analysis and risk management of large-scale capital projects throughout the world.

Mr. Morey joined Oakbrook in 2007 to provide development and asset management support for Oakbrook’s multi-housing portfolio.  Mr. Morey’s responsibilities include overseeing property operations as well as the planning and implementation of the company’s redevelopment projects.

As Vice President Operations-Managed Properties, Ms. Edwards is responsible for a portfolio of over 90 properties consisting of more than 5,600 residential units located in Illinois and Wisconsin.  Her portfolio includes market rate, tax-exempt bond, HUD Section 8 and HOME, USDA Rural Development and Low Income Housing Tax Credit financed developments.  Prior to her current position, Ms. Edwards held positions as Senior Regional Portfolio Manager, Regional Manager and Compliance Manager.

CAREER SUMMARY

Mr. McConnell has been employed in the building maintenance field since 1982.  In 1987 he joined Oakbrook Corporation at its formation as a Maintenance Supervisor in Arlington Heights, Illinois for our Residential Division.  In 1989, Mr. McConnell transferred to our Commercial Division as a Maintenance Technician where his responsibilities included the daily operations of seven commercial office buildings.  In 1996 he was promoted to Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our entire portfolio of commercial properties in the Madison area.  In 2002, he was promoted to Commercial Facilities Manager where his responsibilities included the management of maintenance services for over 1.3 million square feet of commercial space.  In 2004, Mr. McConnell was promoted to Senior Commercial Property Manager.

Mr. McConnell is well versed in all aspects of building maintenance and building management.  His vast knowledge of building maintenance comes from his hands-on background with extensive experience in several types of fire alarm systems, access control and automated HVAC systems.  His expertise is invaluable in preparing preventive maintenance plans, assisting in the budgeting process and achieving operating cost reductions for Oakbrook Corporation property management clients.  He also performs project management services for capital improvement and replacement projects.

Mr. Richards is responsible for overseeing all leasing activities, property operations and the financial performance of Oakbrook Corporation’s managed portfolio in accordance with each property owner’s investment goals. In addition, Mr. Richards is a licensed salesperson and handles brokerage transactions on behalf of Oakbrook Corporation for clients who have ranged from local entrepreneurs to national corporations including SVA, WPS Inc., Smith & Gesteland and Verizon Wireless. 

Before joining Oakbrook Corporation, he was employed as a business banker with M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank in Madison, Wisconsin.  Mr. Richards managed a full range of banking services for a portfolio of lower middle market businesses (up to $10 million in annual sales).  His duties included assisting businesses with their working capital, equipment, and real estate financing needs.

Mr. Caulum specializes in the areas of office, industrial and vacant land and provides an array of corporate real estate services including brokerage, site selection and negotiation, financial analysis, development consulting and research.  His clients have ranged from local entrepreneurs to multinational corporations including Capitol Insurance Companies, Chiron, Kraft, M3 Insurance Solutions, Newell Rubbermaid, Pitney Bowes, Safelite, Smith Barney, Sony, Sub Zero Freezer Co. and Thermo Fisher Scientific. 

Mr. Caulum also oversees Oakbrook Corporation's research unit, which covers the Madison office and industrial markets and includes publishing research trends reports and forecasts.  Mr. Caulum regularly shares Oakbrook Corporation’s research in presentations to business organizations, commercial brokers and financial institutions.
